The IT Events calendar: A new way to publicize your event

April 25, 2008

OCIO Communications

The Office of the CIO is pleased to announce the Information Technology (IT) Events calendar, a new addition to the UC Berkeley Calendar Network. This web-based application allows any campus group or department to add notices about events to a centralized calendar. Our goal is to make the IT Events calendar a resource where all campus IT events can be seen in a single place.

The IT Events calendar is moderated by OCIO staff, and is designed to function as an aggregate of IT-related events that are sponsored by groups and departments throughout the Berkeley campus. Examples of events that can be publicized on the IT Events calendar might include regularly scheduled Micronet and other campus professional group meetings, as well as presentations, panels, brown bags, or educational sessions of interest to the campus IT community.

Instructions for submitting an event to the IT events calendar are below. Events can be posted directly to the IT Events calendar, and can also easily be cross-posted from another department's calendar if it is part of the UC Berkeley Calendar Network.

The success of the IT Events calendar depends on the participation of the campus IT community. Please submit your events and help make this calendar the repository for all campus IT event information.

Submitting events to the IT events calendar

  1. Go to the UC Berkeley Events calendar.

  2. Click on the "Submit or edit an event" link.
