JNet, a UC Berkeley J2EE and Java mailing list

Kathleen Connors, Carol Gray, Sara Leavitt, Phil Stone, and Sai Tsui, Lawrence Hall of Science

Do you have an interest in Java and J2EE technologies?
Are you developing e-Berkeley applications?
Would you like a way to interact with other developers?

After doing Java and J2EE development for several years and talking to our colleagues over the past couple of months, we decided that the time was right for "jNet". The initial focus of the mailing list is exchanging technical information, asking questions, and discussing topics of common interest about J2EE development of e-Berkeley-type applications.

The associated website is at http://www.lhs.berkeley.edu/jnet/. Check here for an informal directory of J2EE development at Berkeley and for lists of useful books and websites.

Since its launch last month, 40 people from a variety of departments have joined. This includes computer managers as well as programmers, novices, and experienced Java programmers alike. So far, topics have included Java resources, the definition of J2EE, and e-Berkeley projects. No meetings are planned at this time, but we hope to foster new collaborative relationships.

Subscribe to jnet-list and tap into the Java and J2EE knowledge at UC Berkeley. See http://www.lhs.berkeley.edu/jnet/ for instructions on subscribing.
