UCCSC coming to Berkeley, July 28-30

Laura Kim, IST–WSS

Come join other IT professionals from across the UC system at the 13th annual University of California Computer Services Conference (UCCSC), hosted at Berkeley. The UCCSC is a forum for UC staff to talk about common issues associated with providing and supporting information technology at the UC campuses. The conference is aimed at technical support staff, system administrators, unit directors, librarians, and anyone else for whom IT plays a significant role in his or her daily activities.

This year's conference will focus on new technological directions campuses are developing to meet and solve issues in our environment. We welcome you to share your experience and expertise in implementing new technologies, e-business solutions, educational technology research and outreach, or finding new solutions to old problems.

A kick-off campus poster reception will be held Sunday evening, July 28, 5–8 p.m. Key campuswide projects will be displayed on poster boards for discussion and questions. This informal reception provides you with the opportunity to meet colleagues, engage in discussion with others working on projects similar to your own, and gain perspective on the technology directions at each of the UC campuses.

If you would like to host a Birds of Feather (BOF) session on a special topic, please contact us (uccsc2002@uclink.berkeley.edu) and we will arrange a lunchtime table for your discussion. Online conference registration will be available beginning April 1 on the UCCSC Conference registation page (http://uccsc.berkeley.edu/register.html). If you would like to volunteer to help out with the conference, drop us a line (uccsc2002@uclink.berkeley.edu). Check the UCCSC 2002 website (http://uccsc.berkeley.edu/) for up-to-date information about the conference.
